Our grade 5 students joined @newyorkermag in celeb Our grade 5 students joined @newyorkermag in celebrating a hundred years of the iconic magazine and its famous cover art.💯 🏙️ After studying vintage ones from the 1950s and '60s alongside contemporary pieces, our students captured the true essence of NYC. Their authentic illustrations range from charming flocks of pigeons to the unique skeletal structure of the Oculus. Now, students can go see it for themselves at the @NYPL’s official exhibition, A Century of The New Yorker, and how their designs stack up to the real thing. We’re inspired by their creativity. How about you?

The 50th anniversary of the Edmund Fitzgerald trag The 50th anniversary of the Edmund Fitzgerald tragedy gave our grade 3 students a powerful, real-world science challenge while connecting literature, history, and physics.

The lesson focused on how the three states of matter—the solid iron ship, the gaseous "Gales of November," and the liquid waves—combined to exert the immense pressure that overcame the vessel. They also used the powerful Gordon Lightfoot ballad about the wreck as a source to explore buoyancy and the mechanics of force.

When our Subject Expert Teachers use their passion and depth of knowledge to inspire understanding with hands-on learning, that’s where the magic happens.
