Reflection
Overall, the Senior Project experience has been a great one not only regarding the academic skills I gained but also what it taught me about time management, meeting deadlines, and planning a project from the ground up. My prior experience in research definitely helped me from a technical standpoint when it came to conducting background research and doing the actual dirty work with science, math, and coding, however the Senior Project experience has helped me collaborate with a variety of different mentors and students who actively critique your project as you go. This change in pace has been a positive one and has pushed me to make my project much better than it would have been if I had conducted it solo.
Throughout the experience, the most important skill I learned was to meticulously document all my progress. From these blog posts to myA GitHub commits and to maintaining a Google Drive, it all contributed to my organizational skills becoming better as a result.
Acknowledgements
I would like to thank my two faculty advisors, Ms. Bhattacharya and Dr. Wang for their continued support across the 12 weeks. Ms. Bhattacharya has been incredibly helpful in helping me meet deadlines and stay on top of my work, while Dr. Wang has provided valuable technical feedback when it comes to the economic feasibility of my project.
I would also like to thank my external advisor Dr. Bhavana Tiple who has helped me formulate the idea for this project and has answered all technical questions regarding the coding and computer science behind it. I would like to thank her for taking time out of her busy schedule to assist me.
I would lastly like to thank my parents for helping fund this project. Although the cost was under 5 dollars, API usage is not free and as a result my parents were the ones who helped fund this project.
I would like to thank everyone for reading the blogs! If you would like to contact me about this project in general, please contact arjunmaganti2008@gmail.com.
