Week 8: A Website Work In Progress
May 5, 2023
Hello everyone! Welcome back to my weekly blog. This week, my goal was to continue working on the Website for Identity Science. To continue with progress from last week, I decided I wanted to complete the home page and how Identity Science’s platform works for the website, which is what I did. Underneath the main home section where I put the phrase “Unlock the Power of Privacy” and the “Request Demo Button”, I decided to create a section describing Identity Science’s mission. Taking information given to me straight from my external advisor, I decided to make the header purple and in the font Verdana Pro Condensed. I also put a small paragraph of text describing Identity Science’s purpose. The text reads: Identity Science uses intelligence to build Visibility, Composite Risk Profile, and Remediation Recommendations. The platform builds an identity-centric continuous risk reduction and authorization platform with Track-and-Trace visibility for Developer and DevOps use cases. If I have more time at the end of my website’s creation, I want to go back and simplify this wording so more people can understand it. Additionally, next to this text, I put in a photo of what the platform for Identity Science looks like when it runs. However, the photo my external advisor gave me was quite blurry and not the correct color. So I solved this problem by blurring the image slightly, so it has more of an aesthetic look to it rather than the look of an ugly and out-of-place image.
Then, I made the next section describing the advantages of the Identity Science platform. I described it in a larger font by calling it an “Agentless Security Platform” and talked about the three aspects it manages in orange bullet points. I used vector art as bullet points to better fit the theme, and the three points are End to End Developer Posture, Entitlements, and Open Source Software.
After working on the home screen, I decided I wanted to finish the page describing Identity Science’s services. I wrote about how Identity Science offers customers a special limited and unique private design customer program. Using purple widgets and text boxes to bring a cohesive look to the website, I described the three ways Identity Science works: through a risk assessment audit, feedback loop, and no incremental costs.
I am very happy with the progression of my website. While I had planned to complete it this week, I did not since I spent a lot of time playing around with different features, so I hope to complete the website by sometime next week. In addition to the content of the website, I spent a lot of time playing around with the animations. For instance, I made the logo spin in when someone clicks on the website. Additionally, all headers fade in. I loved the look of this since the site looks more professional and will definitely be more engaging. I also really loved the idea of videos in the background of my text. For the Home, Our Services, and Agentless Security Platform sections I have small videos playing in the background. However, they are not distracting because the video opacity is very light and the main color of the strip is still green. See you next week!
