Israel Project Week 3: 04/07 - 04/13

This week, I was assigned to a base called Mishmar HaNegev just outside the city of Be’er Sheva. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to be as productive as last week for two reasons: first because we set the bar for productivity absurdly high last week at Elyakim, and second because we spent most of the time waiting for supply shipments that never arrived. It was also a much smaller group this week, with only 7 volunteers compared to last week’s 11.

Now I would add more about this week but exactly at the time of writing this (23:00 local time), I have been alerted that the Islamic Republic of Iran has launched dozens of drones aimed at Israel, and that they will likely reach Israeli airspace by 05:30 local time. I’m not worried that I will get hurt. I am in the Jewish State, surrounded by millions of my brothers and sisters, and an army that I trust with my life to protect me. We’ve survived worse odds.
I’ve already been feeling a little sick today, so I’m going to go and get a few hours of sleep before the sirens wake me up and I have to go to the safe room.
