Currently, assisting financial goals of young people are overlooked and underserved. Many young people have their lofty (or conservative) financial goals, but tend to lack personalized guidance. Current financial heuristics are generic and do not adapt well to individual constraints and situations. My goal with this project is to evaluate the extent to which agent-based AI frameworks can turn high-level financial goals into personalized, step-by-step financial plans.
Much of the research conducted for this study will be internet research. Firstly, I’ll review individual financial principles and heuristics that dictate current widely accepted views on finance management. I’ll also conduct technical research on agent AI, its use in finance, and how it can be optimized for my personal project. I’ll need to design synthetic user personas for evaluating the final product, which will be a task in itself of researching which groups may find the most usefulness in a tool like mine.
The final deliverable of this project is a functional prototype of an agent-based AI system that generates personalized, step-by-step financial plans based on user goals and constraints. I’ll also have a set of user personas used for evaluation, and a structured framework on how to measure the model’s performance versus basic financial heuristics.
