Week 10: Finishing My Project and Preparing to Present
May 8, 2026
Welcome back to my senior project blog! I spent this week wrapping up the final parts of my project and preparing everything for my presentation. After spending the past several weeks conducting experiments, organizing data, and writing my paper, I shifted my focus towards final edits, poster creation, and practicing my presentation.
A good part of my week was spent finishing my research paper. I continued reviewing and refining several sections to make sure everything was organized properly and flowed together well. I also spent time going back to my graphs, tables, and figures to make sure they accurately represented my data and fit properly in the paper. Since this is the final version of my project, I wanted to ensure that my explanations, methodology, and analysis were as clear as they could be.
Along with my paper, I also worked on finishing my final poster. I focused on organizing the main sections of my project in a way that was both visually clear and easy to follow. Since there is limited space on the poster, I had to decide which graphs, images, and explanations were the most important to include. This process helped me summarize the main points of my project and think about how to communicate my work more efficiently. I think this will also be useful when presenting my slideshow at the symposium.
Another important part of this week was preparing for my final presentation. I spent time practicing how I would explain my project, describe my setup, and discuss my results in a clear and easily understandable way. Practicing with my friends, Josh and Shreyas, helped me become more comfortable explaining the reasoning behind my experiment and answering possible questions about my work.
Looking back on the project as a whole, it’s interesting to see how much the process evolved over time. What started as an initial idea gradually turned into a full research project involving planning, troubleshooting, experimentation, data analysis, and writing. I had to change so many aspects of my original project, and I think each change was a good learning opportunity. Throughout the process, I learned not only more about photovoltaic systems and environmental testing, but also about the challenges that come with conducting independent research.
Overall, Week 10 felt like a satisfying conclusion to my senior project. Finishing my paper and poster and preparing for my presentation made everything finally feel complete, and I’m excited to present the work that I’ve spent the past several months developing.
