Senior Spotlight: Alina A. ’26’s Road to Oxford

Senior Spotlight: Alina A. ’26’s Road to Oxford

June 23, 2026 by aixuanwang Leave a Comment

When Head of School Kate Reynolds thinks of Alina A. ’26, she thinks of the same thing most of us do: a wisp of a girl carrying a mountain of books. “I have known her since she was in grade 4,” Ms. Reynolds says, “when the books she carried around looked comically large for her. She’s grown taller, but the books are still just as intimidating!”

In Alina’s own words, “The central, defining feature of my life is that I really like reading and writing.” Her college personal statement was about how books have shaped her understanding of herself and the world. That love of books has led her all the way to Oxford University, where she’ll be studying literature next year.

Alina’s road to Oxford began ten years ago, when she joined BASIS Independent McLean in our very first year. Back then, she says, “I was shyer about having special interests. I really wanted to be on that STEM track the way everyone else was.” She credits her middle and high school English teachers with helping her realize that “I can do what I want, and it’s fine.”

In grade 5, she wrote a twenty-page story about a modern pantheon of gods in response to a two-page assignment. In eighth-grade English, she began combining her love of literature and art by illustrating scenes from novels for book-report projects. By the time she took AP Literature in grade 11, she was reading books on literary theory, consuming two to three novels a week, and taking classroom assignments to the next level. “Like one time,” she recalls, “we had an assignment to do a basic outline. I asked if I could use the windows and create this project where I would illustrate each scene and then break it down and annotate it.’” For the rest of the semester, the classroom windows were covered with Alina’s beautifully illustrated annotations.

Alina’s love of literature and art extended outside the classroom. She has entered numerous poetry competitions, mentored young writers, and tutored others in writing. She has also spent years creating an art portfolio filled with works inspired by literature. In short, she’s done what every college Dean of Admissions advises students to do: find what you enjoy and lean into it.

The mixing of her two passions culminated in her creation of the senior mural, signed by each of the graduating seniors and inspired by a Margaret Atwood quote that she loved: “In the end, we are all stories.”

Alina presenting the completed mural.

When it came time to apply to college, Alina’s clear love of learning earned her admission to many top universities, including Cornell, Emory, William & Mary, St. John’s, and Oxford. Alina recalls that the application process was often stressful, but the Oxford application was actually fun. She had two hour-long interviews with Oxford professors and was delighted to talk about poetry and books with people who loved them just as much as she did. That mutual love of literature is why she chose Oxford, and it is no doubt a huge part of why they chose her.

Now, the girl with the book is off to read at the Bodleian! All the best to you, Alina!

Student Ambassadors: Creating Community at BASIS Independent Manhattan

June 16, 2026 by jacquelineransley Leave a Comment

Welcoming Students and Families from Day One

The Student Ambassador Program is a key component of how BASIS Independent Manhattan helps welcome new students and families who are looking to find the best private school on the Upper West Side.

  • Welcoming prospective families: Greeting visitors during school tours and helping them feel comfortable and informed.
  • Answering questions: Sharing firsthand experiences and insights with families at admissions events and school programs.
  • Supporting new students: Helping classmates navigate their first weeks and settle into the school community.
  • Building connections: Creating opportunities for new students to meet peers and feel included.

Leaving a Lasting First Impression

After interacting with our student ambassadors, families share their positive experiences with us. One prospective parent described them as:

“Kind, caring, thoughtful, and genuinely enthusiastic about their school.”

One family reflected on the genuine pride students had in our community sharing they:

“Could not believe so many students volunteered their time to help their school on a Saturday.”

For new students, having a peer connection can make all the difference during a transition. Through our Link Family Program, new families are paired with a current family and student who can answer questions, share experiences, and provide support before and during the first weeks of school. This connection gives parents a trusted resource and helps students begin their journey with confidence and a sense of belonging.

Their positivity helps prospective and new students feel comfortable, confident, and excited about joining BASIS Independent Manhattan, offering a firsthand glimpse into the welcoming culture of our community.

Why Students Love Being Ambassadors

What makes the Student Ambassador Program especially meaningful is the authenticity of the students involved.

“I like bringing new families and students into the community.”

Ambassadors enthusiastically share why they love representing their school, it is a chance to:

  • Build friendships and meaningful connections within the school community.
  • Grow academically through the opportunities and challenges they encounter.
  • Develop leadership and communication skills through their ambassador responsibilities.
  • Help new families feel welcome and connected from the very beginning.

Their passion shines through in their own words:

“Being a student ambassador has given me the freedom to present what I love about my school alongside my peers.”

“I love meeting new people and making new friends.”

A Reflection of the BASIS Independent Manhattan Community

The Student Ambassador Program is more than just a leadership opportunity; it is a reflection of the values that make BASIS Independent Manhattan such a special place. State of the School 2026: A Thriving Community at BASIS Independent Bothell

June 15, 2026 by abisoyetaylor Leave a Comment

A Transformational Year at BASIS Independent Bothell

The 2025–2026 school year marked a defining moment for BASIS Independent Bothell, as our campus continued its rapid evolution into one of the most dynamic private school communities in the region.

Just two years ago, this building represented possibility. Today, it is filled with energy, purpose, and connection; a place where students are known, challenged, and inspired every day.

That transformation has been guided by three core commitments: a culture of belonging, academic excellence, and meaningful partnership with families. These pillars define not only who we are, but why families choose BASIS Independent Bothell.

A School Where Students Truly Belong

At BASIS Independent Bothell, belonging is not just a value. It is an experience students feel every day.

In classrooms, students who began the year as strangers are now collaborating, performing, and supporting one another with growing confidence. Across campus, shared experiences from seasonal performances to schoolwide celebrations bring our community together in meaningful ways.

Just as important are the quieter moments of growth. With the support of dedicated teachers and student support staff, students are building resilience, confidence, and a stronger sense of self. Whether through individualized support or peer connection, every student is learning that they have a place here.

Programs like cross-grade buddy initiatives and student recognition through the Outstanding Orca Program reinforce a culture where character, kindness, and perseverance matter.

The result is a school where students are not only learning but thriving socially, emotionally, and academically.

Academic Excellence That Inspires Growth

A hallmark of a BASIS Independent School’s education is the balance of rigor and joy. This year, that balance was on full display. Students engaged in hands-on, meaningful learning experiences that brought subjects to life:

  • Creative science projects that encourage curiosity and experimentation
  • Language learning that extends beyond the classroom into real-world application
  • Collaborative humanities projects that develop critical thinking
  • Data-driven exploration in math and computer science

This approach fosters not just strong academic outcomes, but a genuine love of learning.

Progress is also measured through nationally benchmarked assessments, including the Comprehensive Testing Program (CTP), which compares student performance against independent schools across the country.
This ensures that BASIS Independent Bothell students are meeting and often exceeding high academic standards.

Beyond the classroom, students continue to shine in competitions, earning recognition in areas like math and chess, demonstrating both skill and perseverance.

Equally important is the strength of our faculty. Through ongoing collaboration, mentorship, and professional development, our teachers continuously refine their craft creating classrooms where students feel both supported and challenged.

A True Partnership with Families

One of the most powerful drivers of our success is the partnership we share with families.

At BASIS Independent Bothell, education is a shared endeavor. Families actively engage in school life supporting programs, contributing to community events, and collaborating with faculty to enhance the student experience.

Signature events like WorldFest, which brought together more than 35 cultures and hundreds of attendees, highlight the strength, diversity, and connection within our community.

This partnership extends beyond events. Families consistently approach the school with a solutions-oriented mindset, helping us grow and improve together. In fact, the majority of new families discover our school through word-of-mouth referrals: a testament to the trust and satisfaction within our community.

Looking Ahead: What’s Next for BASIS Independent Bothell

As we look toward the 2026–2027 school year, our focus remains clear: continuing to build a school where every student feels a sense of belonging, achieves at a high level, and is supported by a strong community.

We will continue strengthening student support systems and investing in social-emotional learning, ensuring every child feels confident, connected, and supported.

Students will benefit from continued growth in academic programming, extracurricular offerings, and opportunities to explore their interests both inside and outside the classroom.

We are committed to expanding opportunities for family engagement, reinforcing the collaborative partnerships that make our school so special.

Taste the Creativity at Our Grade 3 Food Truck Fair!

June 15, 2026 by anjalijoshi Leave a Comment

As a PreK–Grade 5 school on the UWS, BASIS Independent Manhattan provides authentic learning experiences that connect classroom concepts to real-world applications. Learning comes to life through engaging, hands-on experiences that inspire students to think creatively, collaborate with their peers, and apply their knowledge in meaningful ways. One of the most anticipated highlights of the grade 3 curriculum is the annual Food Truck Project, an interdisciplinary unit that transforms students into young entrepreneurs and culminates in a vibrant Food Truck Fair.

Families researching private schools often seek opportunities that combine rigorous academics with hands-on learning experiences. The Food Truck Project is a signature component of the grade 3 curriculum NYC families appreciate for its blend of academics, creativity, and entrepreneurship.

How Grade 3 Students Become Entrepreneurs

The Food Truck Project exemplifies the dynamic learning experiences that make grade 3 such an exciting year. Working in teams, students take ownership of creating and launching their own food truck businesses from the ground up. From brainstorming concepts and conducting market research to designing branding materials and developing menus, students experience the many steps involved in building a successful business.

As they bring their ideas to life, students develop valuable entrepreneurial skills including financial literacy, branding and design, persuasive writing, public speaking, collaboration, and problem-solving. They learn how to evaluate customer interests, make strategic business decisions, communicate ideas effectively, and work as a team toward a shared goal. These authentic experiences help students understand how the skills they learn in the classroom can be applied in meaningful, real-world contexts.

Bringing Learning to Life

Students apply concepts from multiple subject areas:

Mathematics

  • Create budgets
  • Calculate expenses and profits
  • Make financial decisions

Geometry & Engineering

  • Design scale models
  • Calculate area, perimeter, and volume

Research & Writing

  • Investigate global cuisines
  • Analyze information
  • Create persuasive marketing materials

Branding & Design

  • Develop logos
  • Design menus
  • Create advertisements

Public Speaking & Collaboration

  • Present ideas
  • Pitch concepts
  • Work toward shared goals

A Showcase of Imagination and Innovation

This year’s Food Truck Fair featured a wide variety of imaginative concepts, each reflecting the creativity and unique interests of its student team.

  • Breakfast Bank invited visitors to explore breakfast favorites from around the world, offering a menu inspired by global morning traditions.
  • Slurping Ramen celebrated the comforting flavors of noodle dishes while introducing customers to different styles of ramen and Asian cuisine.
  • Fry-Days embraced everyone’s love of crispy treats, serving up a creative menu dedicated to all things fried.
  • Europe from East to West took guests on a culinary journey across the continent, showcasing foods and flavors from a variety of European countries.

Each food truck demonstrated not only creativity but also thoughtful planning, teamwork, and attention to detail. Students proudly shared their concepts, explained their business strategies, and presented the hard work they had invested throughout the project.

Building Confidence Through Experience

Beyond academics, the Food Truck Project helps students build confidence in their abilities. By navigating challenges, making decisions as a team, and presenting their work to an audience, students gain meaningful experience in leadership, collaboration, and public speaking. They learn how to advocate for their ideas, respond to feedback, and adapt when plans change—skills that will benefit them both inside and outside the classroom.

The project also fosters a growth mindset, encouraging students to take risks, learn from mistakes, and celebrate both individual and team accomplishments. These experiences help students develop resilience and independence while cultivating a lifelong love of learning.

A Project That Evolves Every Year

One of the strengths of the Food Truck Project is that it continues to grow and evolve each year through the creativity and dedication of our teachers. Guided by their Learning Expert Teacher (LET), Ms. Arlinda, and the Grade 3 Subject Expert Teachers (SETs), the project regularly introduces new opportunities for creativity, entrepreneurship, and innovation, ensuring that each year’s experience is fresh and engaging.

In recent years, students have explored modern marketing concepts by creating mock social media content for their businesses, including developing Instagram profiles that reflect their brand identity and target audience. Other additions have included designing branded merchandise featuring their logos, helping students further explore the connections between marketing, design, and entrepreneurship. These enhancements ensure that each year’s Food Truck Project builds on previous successes while providing new opportunities for creativity and innovation.

A Memorable Grade 3 Tradition

The Food Truck Project is more than a classroom activity—it celebrates creativity, curiosity, and interdisciplinary learning at BASIS Independent Manhattan. At this year’s fair, Grade 3 students proudly showcased their food truck businesses, demonstrating the skills, knowledge, and confidence they built throughout the year. A beloved tradition, the project creates lasting memories while inspiring deeper learning and engagement.

Meet Our New Admissions Coordinator, Ms. Paola Valle

June 12, 2026 by nathanielyinger Leave a Comment

Ms. Paola is a dedicated administrator with experience in a wide array of career fields. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Santa Clara University in 2020, Ms. Paola found that working in a laboratory setting did not fully align with her desire to be in service of others. After moving to the island of Oahu in 2020, she became a public servant working for the City and County of Honolulu, planning storm water improvement projects to ease flooding concerns and preserve near-shore surface waters for the local community. After four years of service, Ms. Paola moved back to the Bay Area, where she grew up, to pursue a career path in education and administration.

Ms. Paola first joined the BASIS Independent Schools community as a Front Office Coordinator at BASIS Independent Fremont Lower for the 2025-2026 school year. Ms. Paola is extremely excited to join the BASIS Independent Dublin team in its inaugural year and contribute to cultivating a positive and welcoming community for families seeking an excellent education.

Outside of school, Ms. Paola loves to sing, dance, roller-skate, cook, and crochet. She is a die-hard San Jose Sharks fan; when she’s not catching a game at the Shark Tank you can probably find her at a local concert enjoying live music.

What inspired you to work in schools, and what drew you to BASIS Independent Dublin?
My parents always took education very seriously as first-generation immigrants, and my brother and I were fortunate to receive strong educations at private and public institutions throughout our academic careers. After spending several years in public service within local government, I realized that one of the most meaningful ways to create lasting change is by working in education, supporting and helping shape their pathways to success.

Additionally, through my husband’s nearly decade-long career in education, I was able to see firsthand the difference that dedicated educators and supportive school communities can make in students’ lives. His experience inspired me to pursue a role where I could contribute directly to student growth and family engagement. My experience at BASIS Independent Fremont Lower reinforced this even further, by seeing how even the smallest acts of support or guidance can have a meaningful impact on a student’s confidence and success.

Joining BASIS Independent Dublin is especially exciting because it offers the opportunity to help build a new school community from the ground up in its very first year. I’m elated to be part of bringing a rigorous, enriching academic program and exceptional educators to the Tri-Valley community.

What aspect(s) of your new role are you most excited about?
I’m thrilled to be part of the Admissions team and support our goal of connecting families with an outstanding educational experience. I’m especially excited about engaging directly with families through events, outreach, and campus tours, helping them learn more about what makes BASIS Independent Dublin so special. Having experienced BASIS Independent Schools’ warm, engaging, and academically challenging environment, I’m excited to help introduce new families to that same experience. I anticipate that getting to know families’ stories, backgrounds, and values will be very rewarding. I look forward to building relationships with prospective families and supporting them throughout the admissions process as they explore this important decision, and welcoming those who will become a part of our BASIS Independent Dublin community.

Are there any thoughts you’d like to share with families who are joining – or who are thinking of joining – the BASIS Independent Dublin community?
We are so excited to welcome prospective families to the BASIS Independent Dublin community! Starting at a new school is such a unique and special experience.  It’s an opportunity to be a part of forming close-knit relationships, building traditions, and shaping the culture of the school from the very beginning.

For families considering joining, I encourage you to reach out to us, visit our campus, and ask questions; our team is here to support you throughout the entire process. My goal is to ensure that every family feels informed and confident in their decisions for their student’s academic journey. We look forward to getting to know your family and partnering with you!

Meet Our New Curriculum Coordinator, Ms. Madison Pomeroy

June 12, 2026 by nathanielyinger Leave a Comment

Ms. Pomeroy received her BA from Saint Mary’s College of California in the Integral Program, where some of her favorite classes revolved around philosophy and astronomy. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Ms. Pomeroy started coaching girls’ high school soccer at her alma mater; her coaching experience directly contributed to Ms. Pomeroy developing her passion for teaching.

Ms. Pomeroy has spent the past five years as a classroom teacher, teaching grade 1 and grade 4. In addition to classroom teaching, she took on additional responsibilities including serving on her school’s leadership team, instructional coach, joining WASC visiting accreditation committees, and as the school’s athletic director.  During this time, she completed her Master’s of Education at the University of Massachusetts.

Outside of school, Ms. Pomeroy is an avid sports fan. She loves to watch any and all sports with a particular interest in soccer, baseball and football. Ms. Pomeroy loves to read and spend time with her puppy, Maverick, and her fiancé, Ismael.

What inspired you to work in schools, and what drew you to the BASIS Independent Dublin community?
My inspiration to work in schools actually originated from my time as a soccer coach. In 2016, I began my coaching career at Clayton Valley Charter High School as the women’s junior varsity coach. Although I was not that much older than the girls I was coaching, I could see the influence I was having on them and it inspired me to want to continue on that path. After I graduated from college, I started to explore different pathways to continue working with students in other capacities.

I am lucky enough to have experience working with students ranging in age from kindergarten to high school. One of the challenges that I’ve most enjoyed in my teaching career is working with the highest achieving students. When I first learned about BASIS Independent Dublin and began exploring the rigorous curriculum and the ways in which BASIS Independent Schools students are able to take ownership of their learning, I was instantly intrigued.

More specifically, what attracted you to curriculum development, and what are some of the key considerations you have in mind when analyzing, refining, and implementing curriculum?
Since becoming a teacher, I have always been interested in curriculum development because I quickly realized how much curriculum impacts both teacher and student success. Not all curriculum programs are teacher-friendly or accessible for diverse learners, and that challenge motivates me to adapt and refine materials to better meet the needs of my students and colleagues. Throughout the past five years in the classroom and through my experiences on my prior school’s leadership team, I have developed a strong understanding of how thoughtful curriculum design can improve engagement, rigor and consistency across classrooms.

I believe curriculum should be data-informed and continuously improved through reflection, assessments, and collaboration with educators. My experience has really strengthened my ability to think strategically about effective curriculum implantation and continuous improvement.

What aspect(s) of your new role are you most excited about?
I am most excited to make a broader impact beyond a single classroom. Curriculum development combines many of the aspects of education that I am most passionate about, including instructional design and collaboration supporting both students and teachers. Having the chance to be a part of the Academic Programs team is an exciting opportunity that I am looking forward to!

BASIS Independent Dublin is a Grades 5 – 12 private school, providing students with an internationally benchmarked liberal arts and sciences curriculum, with advanced STEM offerings. Considering joining the BASIS Independent Dublin community? To join our interest list for the next school year and receive admissions updates and more, please click here.

Ms. Prachi has worked across diverse educational settings in India and the United States as a classroom teacher.

Ms. Prachi holds the following degrees: Master of Education, Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Science in Biology, and Bachelor of Law and postgraduate diplomas in Personnel Management.

Ms. Prachi believes learning is most powerful when it is inquiry-driven, engaging, and meaningful, and strives to create inclusive classrooms where students feel supported, challenged, and encouraged to think critically, collaborate, and grow in confidence.

She believes that education is a transformative tool that fosters meaningful change and growth in society as well as within the community.

What drew you to join our school community?
I was drawn to BASIS Independent Dublin because of its unique academic model that blends rigor, depth of understanding, and a culture of inquiry. I deeply connect with the idea of challenging students not just to learn content, but to think critically, question deeply, and engage meaningfully with their learning.

What are you most excited about in your first year at BASIS Independent Dublin?
I am most excited about building strong relationships with my students and creating a classroom environment where curiosity, confidence, and critical thinking can thrive. I look forward to designing engaging learning experiences that connect classroom learning to the real world, and to contributing positively to the school community.

What advice do you give to students who want to succeed in your class?
My advice to students is to approach learning with curiosity and enthusiasm, and to truly enjoy the process of discovering new ideas. Learning becomes most meaningful when you are actively involved—asking questions, exploring concepts deeply, and connecting what you learn to the world around you.

What do you hope students will remember most about your class in the future?
I hope students remember my classroom as a very happy place where they felt safe, supported, and encouraged to grow both academically and personally. Beyond that, I hope they leave with a strong conceptual understanding of what they learned and the confidence to use that knowledge in new and real-world situations.

From Apollo to Artemis: How Kindergarten Engineers are Mapping the Future of Space Flight

June 11, 2026 by christineklayman Leave a Comment

While the world watched the successful splashdown of the Artemis II mission, the Kindergarteners at BASIS Independent Manhattan were already deep into their own lunar preparations. In engineering class, a simple pile of LEGO bricks became a lesson in the high-stakes world of aerospace, where our early learning students discovered a fundamental truth: in engineering, every single detail matters.

five students stand in front of a white board that says "We are going back to the moon" and they are holding their straw rockets.

An Interdisciplinary Preview

At BASIS Independent Manhattan, we often speak about our “spiraling curriculum.” For this lesson, that spiral started early. Before picking up a single block, students discussed the meaning behind the name Artemis.

This served as a fascinating interdisciplinary bridge to grade 5 Classics, where students dive deep into Greek mythology and history. By connecting a modern NASA mission to ancient stories, our students could understand how science, history, and culture are never truly separate.

a boy student holds up a design of a space launching system with the rocket and parts labeled in front of a LEGO model.

Mastering Propulsion and Design

The classroom was a hub of “focused fun” as students deconstructed the complexities of a Space Launch System (SLS).

  • Structural Integrity: Using LEGO, Kindergarteners designed launch systems that required balance and strength to stand tall for “liftoff.”
  • The Science of Flight: Through “straw rockets,” students experimented with the mechanics of propulsion, learning how force and direction dictate a successful trajectory.

A Living Connection to History

The lesson took a personal turn thanks to our Kindergarten Teaching Fellow, Ms. Kelly. She shared a remarkable piece of her own family legacy: her father was a Navy pilot who flew the recovery helicopters for the original Apollo missions.

Students looked at archival photos of these recovery missions, realizing that the “splashdown” they were watching on TV – that the world was watching – connected directly to members of their own school community who were part of this carefully constructed operation’s evolution. This use of primary sources and personal narratives is a hallmark of the inquiry-based learning in our Lower School.

“We Will Follow Her There”

Perhaps the most powerful moment came during a discussion about the first female astronaut to journey toward the moon on the Artemis mission. The representation on screen sparked an immediate reaction from several of our students.

“We’re going to follow her there one day so we can explore the moon, too,” they remarked.

What our teachers marveled at most wasn’t that the students learned the mechanics of a rocket, but that they gained the confidence to believe in themselves to accomplish a feat like that in their future. We provide the tools, the content, and the encouragement for them to aim for the stars—literally.

At BASIS Independent Dublin, our academic excellence will be built upon the expertise, passion, and dedication of our Subject Expert Teachers. Today, we are proud to celebrate an exciting achievement within our faculty community: one of our Subject Expert Teachers, Teacher Danae, has been selected to serve as a Subject Advisor (SAD) for the BASIS Curriculum Schools network!

This appointment is not only a recognition of their exceptional teaching and subject-matter expertise – it also highlights the caliber of educators who make BASIS Independent Dublin such a distinctive learning community.

“I’m honored to serve as the Visual Arts Subject Advisor,” said Teacher Danae. “As SAD, I hope to foster strong connections between the Visual Arts Subject Expert Teachers in our network and to help incorporate more cross-curricular learning opportunities at every grade level. Having taught art to BASIS Independent Schools students across all grades, I have worked to connect the techniques, mediums, and styles that we apply in art class to what is being taught in their other classes, such as time periods covered in history and languages, or the chemistry of chemical reactions when firing clay and glazes. Ultimately, I hope to enrich learning for our students through both art-appreciation and as a means of self-expression.”

What Is a Subject Advisor?
Across the BASIS Curriculum Schools network, every required course, and many electives, are supported by a dedicated Subject Advisor. These educators are experienced classroom teachers who take on an expanded leadership role as extensions of the BASIS Curriculum Team.

Subject Advisors, or SADs as they are affectionately called, are responsible for continuously refining and strengthening curriculum content, ensuring that courses remain rigorous, engaging, and aligned from one grade level to the next. They collaborate with other Subject Expert Teachers across the network, analyze student performance data, incorporate emerging developments within their fields, and help shape the educational experiences of thousands of students worldwide.

Most importantly, Subject Advisors remain active classroom teachers, bringing real-world teaching experience directly into curriculum development.

The Power of Subject Expert Teachers
One of the defining features of a BASIS Independent Dublin education is the Subject Expert Teacher model. Rather than teaching across multiple disciplines, our teachers specialize in the subjects they know and love most.

The appointment of a faculty member as a Subject Advisor further demonstrates the depth of expertise within BASIS Independent Dublin’s academic program. These educators are not only teaching students each day, they are helping shape the BASIS Curriculum and instructional practices across our network of schools.

For families considering BASIS Independent Dublin, this distinction offers a meaningful glimpse into the quality of instruction students will receive. Our classrooms will be led by educators who are recognized as leaders in their fields and trusted to guide curriculum development for their peers.

Building Community Through Collaboration
The impact of a Subject Advisor extends far beyond curriculum updates. Throughout the year, Subject Advisors foster professional learning communities by facilitating discussions, sharing instructional resources, leading network-wide meetings, and connecting teachers across campuses. Through newsletters, collaborative forums, and professional development opportunities, they help create a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

This network of collaboration benefits not only teachers but also students, who gain from the collective knowledge and best practices of educators across BASIS Independent and International Schools.

A Reflection of Our Growing Community
As BASIS Independent Dublin continues to grow, accomplishments like this reinforce what makes our school community special. We are building more than a campus – we are cultivating a community of exceptional educators, ambitious students, and engaged families who value academic excellence.

The appointment of a new Subject Advisor serves as a reminder that our Subject Expert Teachers are not only experts in their classrooms but also contributors to a broader educational mission that impacts students across the network.

We are proud to celebrate this achievement and look forward to the many ways our newest Subject Advisor will continue to enrich the educational experience at BASIS Independent Dublin and beyond.

Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition, Teacher Danae! Your leadership, expertise, and commitment to academic excellence help make our community stronger every day.
